Welcome to Hametrix!
I’m Triin, the creator of Hametrix and I’m here to help your clothes and custom pieces last longer while adding a personal touch.
Originally from Estonia, I’ve been living on the Sunshine Coast for over 4 years. Growing up in the countryside, I learned early on the value of craftsmanship and homemade goods. Watching how food is grown, how wool is spun, and how mittens are knitted deeply connected me to the art of handcrafts. In my childhood, mending and redesigning clothes was the norm, and this tradition stayed with me.
From a young age, I’ve had a hands-on approach to life. I knitted my first scarf before I even started school! At school my favorite subject was always handicrafts, where we learned to sew, knit, crochet, and cook. By the time I was 14, most of my clothes were made by myself.
Though I later pursued a degree in tourism and recreation management, my passion for handcrafts never wavered. I enrolled in a sewing class, where I learned not only how to mend clothes but also some patternmaking to make garments from measurements.
In 2019, I moved to Australia, and began a journey of self-discovery. While working in hospitality, I spent my free time surfing at the beach and sewing at home, and in 2024, I decided to turn my passion into a career. I joined an outdoor gear manufacturer to sew camping gear, and then a local dress rental service, where I mended dresses. I loved this new path so much that I decided to start Hametrix—offering mending, alterations, and custom-made sewing services for a wider audience.
I truly believe this is my Ikigai—my purpose in life—and I’m excited to offer my skills to help the community to reduce waste and make the most of our resources. Remember: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!
Take a look around my website and check out my Hametrix Instagram page for inspiration. If you have something in need of repair, or if you’re looking to create something custom, I’d love to help!
Yours Sincerely,
Triin
